i was in siberia 100 yards position 7 prone and had 5 &6 empty next to me they were shooting from the Bench .. so for safety 2 slots apart as i was technically in front of their barrels but far enough to the right ... you just have to keep your brain switched on and mind what you are doing , shooting and walking...
A perfect example, it could be very easy to become engrossed in something, get up from position 7 and take the shortest route back to the covered section which is a diagonal path if you are not concentrating. We are effectively our own RCO's and need to be vigilant at all times.
couldn't agree more.

situational awareness is paramount

Hi spud
they told me that during the probation period i can not book a target alone .. i need a full member to book it for me and be there " supervised"
because i am an exprienced shooter i did my probation exam last weekend and passed it .. hence i was allowed to hire an SMLE after that and put 60 .303 down range
but now since i dont have any "buddies" YET i cant go and book alone... so i am looking for NRA full members that would let me tag along...
they have a training day for probation students tomorrow but that is for the paid complete rookies that are getting tuition... but since i passed the assesment i dont need to do the course which in turn means i cant go tomorrow and put some rounds down range... getting so complex... its :cool2:
So you planning a visit this weekend? fancy a shooting partner / spotter ???
