Palestinian militant groups seem to have a plethora of M16 variants.....
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

Guns dont kill people. Dads with pretty Daughters do...!

AK47 - AKMs. It's all a matter of which crate is opened up first i figure.

Never did come across many AK74s (5.45x39). Not sure whether its due to the nations selling off the old stocks or the smaller round being consider not man enough.

I do remember one joker swinging out in front of the patrol and going full auto with an AK-SU. 2 seconds of absolute mayhem and chaos with everyone screaming "f***" and desperately trying to burry their beltbuckles. Not a sole was hit and practically every round went over our heads. You could hear them go .

Blackstuff wrote:Of the news footage i've seen by far the most prolific rifle used (after AK's) is the H&K G3/Cetme, every bugger in Africa seems to have one! Lucky sods . . . :-P
Beware the bugger with an operational G3. He obviously knows how to clean and care for his weapon. I've seen AKs which barrels look like the inside of chimneys and the rifling is practically worn smooth.

If the zombies ever do come, give me a Russian or Polish AK. Please don't make it a Romanian or Chinese!

A friend was working close to Libya years ago (Geopysics) and the guards were all carrying AK's. He said they were the cleanest most cared for rifles he had ever seen until one day he took a closer look. The one he handled was jammed solid with crud, the owner had never fired it nor been shown how to strip and clean it and even the magazine was jammed with dust and crap yet every day he religiously wiped it over with an oiled rag polished the furniture.

I read somewhere that the top Taliban sniper has an Enfield, he must have better sights than I have on mine!
