For my money a good accurate and reliable set of scales is the most important piece of reloading equipment that you can get.
They are your safety check that you know exactly what weight of powder you are putting in your loads, skimp on scales at your peril.

My advice would be to not buy the Lee scales. Buy a set of dippers by all means.
Buy RCBS or Lyman or any other make but dont buy the Lee they are a waste of money.
You might be able to pick up a second hand set.

I want to try and get the loads fairly accurate so dont think I will get away with just using the dipper but can try it agaisnt the scale and see how accurate I can get it.
I am completely new to reloading 1066 not just handgun ammo.
Ahh right - Well there are plenty of helpful reloaders here to help you get started in the right direction. I must dash off just now.
My advice is buy a basic beam scale, any beam scale, but NOT a Lee or a RCBS 130.
I have nothing against Lee products but if you get the Lee you will bin it in less than a year - if you get a 502 you may well still be using it in 50 years.
