I hate to say this but.... at the end of the day it is a Luger, there are probably countless tens of thousands of the things dotted around the western world. My grandad threw one in the river years ago, I remember a local RFD having a Luger and a Broomhandle Mauser sitting side by side in a cabinet along with some newer stuff, they were both sensible money and never did sell.
I am not suggesting it is the M38 or M44 of the pistol world however I would not get too hung up on what happened to it. Either find an S5 dealer who can move it to the US Market (PM me if you need details of one who can advise you on this) Failing that you know the alternatives.....
