Are BCH advertising FEO jobs?
Not that I know of, they need to though, if only to get through the backlog. The last report from an FEO was a 24 month wait for a grant (although he did say that was to manage expectations, in reality it is nearer 12-15 months).
Fancy it? The boss is reportedly meant to be very anti-civilian ownership.

A couple of months ago, they were advertising for an additional 1 x admin team member, to work along side the current 10 x admin staff. 5 days a week in Cambs HQ for about £22k pa - who the 'F' would work for such a poor salary?
Shows the caliber of the type of person they are trying to employ I guess. BCH admin team were directly responsible for three consecutive errors on my FAC in 2024. Fourth time lucky.

It has been said, "if they can get it right on the first attempt, it would save a lot of time", more than once.

Spoke to a guy last weekend from N. Yorks. Put his renewal in on line on the Friday and his ticket arrived the following Tuesday. No phone call or visit. How much did that cost? If one force can do it they all can.

And a vast majority of renewals will be like that ... a background computer check for any records, quick read of the referees comments and skim over teh GP report. Just an hour or two ... done by a clerical working to guidelines and they only flag issues.
Mine was delayed becasue their outdated systems, including email, could not accept a password protected file which included my personal details. We are told to manage our own security and then the FEOs want our personal data in plain text.

I just checked my certificate runs out in 2026 I have disposed of most of my firearms I will scrap some of them I will take a loss on the 6.5 Creedmoor and probably give away the .303 rifles and Military stuff to felow Club members. I have other hobbies that the Goverment has no interest in that creates income I have had a workshop built behind the house that I spend most of my time in. It was fun I had in excess 40years of it but now it's just not worth the effort.
