I have a couple of issues with anemometers...

1. They are a point source at the firing point and hence of very limited value when it comes to predicting the wind down range and likewise what the wind WILL be when you fire a shot.

2. They are illegal in any competition that I am aware of and hence relying on such a device when not in competition can only serve as a crutch and nothing more and hence retard your ability to use other indicators.

Obviously, if the purpose of the device is for hunting or the like, that is a different story, but for use on a range in or in preparation for competition... NO!

I wouldn't argue with any of that, but as I said I use mine to get my first shot on the board when zeroing for 1,000 yard snaps. We make our own competition rules :mrgreen:
