I hadn't considered lead cast bullets. I found these SFAB 1980/90's 'Gun Legend' cast 9mm in my storage cabinet - I'll load up a few and see how they go.

Flecktarn is who I purchased my last order of 9mm FMJ from…. and they have yet to respond to an email that I sent last week re future availability of the 124. You could always try Firing Solutions to see what they have in stock?
A number of guns that I reload for are not ideally rifled for cast, hence the FMJ route.

Similar here - still awaiting replies from two suppliers from last week.
Flecktarm maybe my fall back with their copper plated variety if I cannot locate some reasonable priced FMJ RN in either .45 or 9mm from any source.

I'm not... Certainly pre ban days I shot a lot of cast (and still do in all of my 38's). I tried cast in both of my Glocks in times of old and my 24C loved it, far more so than my 9 equivalent. My 44 is also on cast.
Now, I have a fair collection of Heritage... and I will be trying cast again as I wish to be as gentle as possible with the older guns. 38S&W is alreadt cast, as is 455. For the SGC I'm sticking with factory for the mo. Other more modern pistols are running FMJ at present.

It's a good question.
I think my recent experience with my Flat & Hollow Point reloading causing misfeeds by switching between different firearms has led me to believe by choosing a particular round nose shape would benefit in two ways:
The RN closely resembles factory production & should be easier to load for correct COAL etc..,
Secondly, I've a few hundred FMJ RN already in both 115 & 124gns & I'll maintain some consistency with the power (Bullseye) & Lee (Progressive) die settings held.
It seems to be very difficult to find a source of FMJ in either weight (115 or 124gns) or the calibre of 9mm or .45 (230gn) for me to return fully to reloading.
Perhaps, when I have permission to respond to the PM's I received or may place a wanted ad I'll be able to locate some.
Regarding reloading v factory ammunition purchase:
Pricing yesterday from a local RFD has American Eagle & Magtech ammunition of 9mm @ 40p & 45acp @ 44p respectively.
Currently with the free brass & power, primers & projectiles I hold from over 10 years ago, the reload remains viable but I will run out of projectiles shortly.
With some of the prices I'm now seeing for components and difficulty in supply experienced, factory purchase may become my Hobson's choice.
There is a certain satisfaction to reloading from the manufacture to the shooting that I may become sadly precluded from.

I am currently making 124 FMJ for around 14p a bang (with components held for years). Even buying now, it would be less than 20p per round. S&B used to be reasonable but the cheapest that PPU now appears to go for is £42 a hundred.
I’ll keep making… as I enjoy shooting well with something made by me (which I also enjoy making). This has been so for over 30 years across rifle, pistol and shotgun.
If I moved over to cast then it would be 13 or so p at current prices.
