I think I've had a fox that far out, fairly sure I have but not used the hornet for a long while really. I do remember the 4-shot group (ran out of ammo afterward, v annoying tbh) that I shot with it at that distance - sub half-inch. Was in perfect conditions and when I was testing for drop, and sure the rifle wouldn't do it all day, but very nice all the same, esp with the 9x scope!

My pet rifle, does the lot . Once you know the distances & traj. fox no problem 150yds +. My best 200 yds +/-10yds , wasn't a good cavity but got the dang thing on the deck !!

I've always said that the Hornet is a very underrated and under used calibre,it will do 'the bizz' on rabbits and foxes out to 200yards,more IF you are sure of your aim.
It seems to be gaining in popularity again

One of my favourite calibres and has been for years. I have a Lithgow/Slazenger Model 24 and a CZ with set triggers in this calibre. Both are fox deadly out to 200 yrds. It is also a great cast boolit calibre for cheap and accurate shooting. I also use it on indoor 25 yrd ranges loaded with a primer and a .22 air pellet
