At the last major multi-sport games in which British athletes competed the host nation was lead into the opening ceremony by a shooter; school children were brought by the busload to see their sports-heroes at shooting test-events, and shooters dominated the sports pages of the domestic press. Here, the hard work of British athletes who give everything to strive for perfection is rewarded with liking them to criminals. Despicable.

Another disgrace.

I hope that our "National" Bodies will be raising this as an issue in the media and getting this debated out in the open. Some worthwhile MP, I know an oxymoron" should be raising this discrimination in the house. 'Tis but a short step to saying that legal gun owners are not fit to be parents.

this is absolutely disgusting!

I can't help but think that there really si no hope for this country anymore... I know its been said alot, but really, safe, considerate and disciplined use of firearms might somehow make kids look towards guncrime is absurd, and this notion of trying to protect children in this way is only going to make them more ignorant towards gun culture.

I was brought up around firearms and I would never consider misusing one - however joe blogs whose only ever seen movies and videogames demonstrating guns might not actually think of the consequences of thier actions when found with a gun...

This attitude of make it an underground sport and phase it out is completely the wrong approach and is bound to do more harm than good...

I'd slap these idiots in power if i ever got close (notice how I didn't say i'd shoot them, yes thats because I have respect for firearms, unlike the unwashed masses theyre trying to keep ignorant!) ARGH!!!

:G An absolute joke. This country is really beyond repair. How can we educate the young uns if we cant even let them watch shooting in probally the most controlled environment there is. Pathetic. The youngsters are the future of the sport and at this rate there won't be a future. HOPEFULLY the NRA and BASC will get onboard.

Another tick in my "I really need to emmigrate, Because this country sucks arse and is falling apart at the seams" book

Well done Boris and to the other spineless Ball sacks, Give your self a pat on the back.

She says - I have passed it onto people who might be able to do something

She thinks - a lot of very rude words! :x

The image that is being portrayed is far from ideal and I am hoping someone will do something.
Hence asking Karen.
