Only a fool would go out of their way to keep alive some scrote that they had just shot, especially in light of the litigation culture. I wouldn't need to restrict the movements of anyone i'd shot - i wasn't trained to take half measures.EagerNoSkill wrote:.............
2. Tie secure those that deserved being shot - hands / wrist / feet etc (enough CT's and you can secure to objects)
A mate emigrated to Texas and applied for permission for firearms and got a visit from the local sheriff. The sheriff asked what he'd do if someone broke in and he was forced to protect himself. Joe started waffling on about checking for life, calling an ambulance, etc. The sheriff stopped him short, winked and said only to call for help after he was sure the scrote was dead

Hell YES, i'd carry. My personal choices would be:
Sig P229 in 40SW with 2 extra magazines & concealed carry holster.
A slim sheath type blade such as a tanto - simple bladed without any serrated nonesence.
I already have med kits in the cars, complete with tampons, clingfilm, clotting agents, etc.
