FB(UK) Shooting club

Sounds like a good idea , especialy if it allows all to meet up for a shoot , not sure about the AGM as I remeber last year the BR tried it and it turned into a slagging email fest for weeks .
Would we need trained RCO for range events ?

Diggle would be no problem to shoot at mid week and if you wanted to shoot alongside a Diggle comp at the weekend that would be no problem either. SSC not required and worst case scenario it would cost each shooter the range fee of £15 for the day.

We have a couple of RCO's already and I am sure more are lurking in the wings. Technically an RCO is not required for a club meet at Bisley but is always a good if someone is nominated for the day. For competitions I would say a couple of RCO's is essential.

Diggle would be a perfect mid country venue, if we could find one up North we should be covered geographically even though some members would seldom if ever meet.

Just a thought but if you wanted to book Blair Athol, you need to book for next year before Nov. Now that would be a great get together in an amazing location.

One of the really interesting things about FB[UK] is that it covers shooting and ranges from all over the UK. If it becomes a shooting club it may tend to be based around the range it uses and lose some of the wider vision.
Rather than becoming a shooting club have you considered affiliation with clubs? For example at Bisley the old Sergents Mess Club seems to have a varied shooting programme and linking with them would allow us access to coffee and meals while they would get turn over from people who live too far away from Bisley to make it worthwhile joining a Bisley club but who might come down now and again to shoot FB[UK] events. Shooters who live in Scotland, Ireland and Wales might be able to suggest clubs which could do the same type of deal.

Very good point the last thing we need is another Surrey shooting club, however the reality is that beyond Bisley suitable non MoD ranges are far and few bewteen. Diggle is a good one, in fact so good I've become a member however they have a full weekend calendar of events that make hires a midweek only option.

Ideally a Full bore UK shooting club should aspire to have a calendar of diverse events spread about the country, if it doesn't it will join the NRA as a Surrey shooting club.

Perhaps contact with the NRA regional reps would help?
