A long time friend and fellow club member has one, built on a 1903 dated receiver, and fitted with a set of diopters.
Its good in the 200-600m ranges, but struggles over that.

From what I have read, the factory converted about 60,000 of them into target rifles. However, it didn’t say how many of which type I’m afraid. Nice guns though, I had a look at one a few years ago and kicked myself for not buying it there and then, it had sold by the time I went back.

I have a copy of the Crown Jewels Swedish Mauser book however it does not say a lot specifically about the CGxx rifles and certainly not the build numbers by year although it has been suggested that it was around 600/month to start off however this number did decline. I have never owned a 6,5x55 before so I am looking forward to trying it at 300-600 yards assuming the brass and dies arrive next week along with the rifle. Pictures to follow :)

Just arrived :)

First impressions are very favourable. This one is from 1972 and built on a 1898 Action so 120 years old at heart :)
