Re: FAC Application
Presumably you are now a full member of a Home Office approved club.Convict_keeper wrote:Thanks for the advice so far but a couple more questions...
is it acceptable to put "Target Shooting" as a reason for wanting the firearms, yes I belong to a club?
and
what would you say would be acceptable amounts of ammo, Im putting in for :-
1 - .22
2 - .38
3 - 303
4 - 308 (for a scoped rifle)
5 - 308 (for an apature sight rifle)
I'm thinking of 750 hold - 1000 purchase but have no idea if these are realistic figures
Cheers in advance

Say just that...target shooting at any approved range.
Were your range only approved for 22 that's all you can get on your licence. You have to show good reason.
You may not get approval for bigger cals until you have relevent experience, but you never know.
500/600 in each cal to acquire and hold, provided you have a cabinet to store them, seems reasonable.

Re: FAC Application
Yup full member of a HO approved club which is cleared for full bore. I already have my certificate of compitence for Military ranges, which I got in October.
Cabinet was fitted yesterday

Target Shooting is fine, include your club and club secretary contact details. Amount to hold is a difficult one as views vary from area to area, I would start off fairly conservatively:
.22LR: 500/600 Hold/Purchase
.38: 300/350
.303: 400/450
7.62x51/.308: (include both in slot applied for and ammunition held) 400/450
Start point in Bedfordshire is lower at 200/250 for target however I think we are licensed to hold approaching 3.5/4k between us so you can build it up as you go along.
Re: FAC Application
Cheers Ovenpaa,
Have put down the club details & Warwickshire require my club to fill in a form confirming that I am a full member to be sent in with the application.
So should i put Target shooting or Target shooting at any approved club?
I know I'm a pain, but I am new to this.

Re: FAC Application
Our licensing department need a primary club even though we are members of more than one they only specify the primary on the FAC
EDIT - Forgot to say, please do ask as many questions as you can, and the reason for putting 7,62X51/.308 is so you have a choice :)

Re: FAC Application
Thats not a problem for me atm as I only belong to 1 club, so it is my primary club :) .
another question I was going to ask is should I put anything in Q22 - Give address of the location at which the firearms are to be stored including details of any certificate holder sharing the storage facility? will I need to put anything for possible trips down to Bisley which would mean an over night stay?

Re: FAC Application
No, just say where you will store them when not in use...presumably at home in BS cabinets.
