Would it be possible to screw a felt wad onto the bottom like traditional Brenneke slugs? Felt wadding in the correct size is after all available for fibre birdshot reloads.

I have had some success with 1oz Lee slugs using fibre wads but as mag44 says if left to their own devices they just rattle down the barrel. To get round this I wrap the slug in paper sleeve (a paper patched slug I suppose) then place this on top of the fibre wads and this gives me about the same accuracy as placing the Lee slug in a plastic wad.
A lad I shoot with just uses the Lee slug with fibre wads and a tightish choke in his gun to straighten it out as it leaves the barrel and reckons this is OK.

If anyone would like some test prints doing, let me know, I can print PLA, PETG, ABS OR Flexible PLA.

I’ll do a batch for you for a fiver to cover materials and postage. If you like them you’re welcome to buy some material and I’ll print a load off for you.
