Devil is in the detail of setting this up square in a jig to cut it all plumb. I use a bandsaw with a frame and pack the head of the stock to insure all is square and level. Thin blade nice and steady to make the cut then a template to transfer the cut out to top and bottom pieces. All cuts made on a milling machine with a router cutter fitted.
Rifles generally are quite straight forward as there are less void in the stock unlike some shotguns beretta 20 bores in particular

Those 'built in' cheek risers are a work of art. I'm a cheepskate however. It may not be pretty but is perfectly functional and cost about a tenner.
