There's one on Guntrader at the moment
They are certainly built like tanks and folk are using them in gr but they are not a Smith.....and after owning one and not being able to group with it where as I am with my Smith the Ruger was a disappointment.

I did look at one of John Robinson's and they are very nice and well made as you would expect but I decided to go with the Ruger for now to see if revolvers are for me, if I like it I will go with one of Johns in the future

Most we sell these days are K Frame in. 38.We can supply L Frame. 38/.357 or N Frame models.
Carbon Fibre sleeved. Based on a new S&W frame price around GBP 3,200.00. 4 week delivery on. 38 K Frame and around 16 weeks on other models.
You could buy 3 new Smith & Wesson .357 for that and have change, a bit expensive.

I don't even think it is guessing..

Section 1 through 5 is a UK, not a global classification..

Therefore, any firearm you wish to import into the UK can be made or modified as you wish. When you apply for an import licence, this is when things matter and it will either be given a classification or banned for import.

Where we have to be careful is when modifying guns already imported as if you convert a firearm in such a way it becomes a section 5, the law states it stay a section 5.

I would put money that the law was written to stop people converting their handguns when the law changed, thereby ensuring the confiscation was effective, rather than smiths making modifications to legal firearms which would be legal when they are finished.

As always, we fall foul of poor legislation, but at least it gives us sheep something to discuss whilst the next gun ban goes ahead!!!

And you’d be losing that money...

As with the rest of your assumption, you are mistaken. S7 of the 1988 Amendment Act and case law prevents your analysis.

All relative really. Pre 1997 a Wilson Matchmaster custom PP1 revolver, based on an S&W, would have been the thick end of £2500. A £700 increase in price over 20 years is probably not that bad!
