I have seen a modified mirage band used, worked pretty well.

I use mirage band, made up adaptor to allow it to be fitted to mod, 3 other club members also use my adaptors.

Thanks for all the responses. Looks like I'll have to shoot a bit more sedately. Rig up a band or cosey to mask the heat or perhaps cure the problem with a water jacket like a Vickers gun.
