Currently I use a proper AI one for my AI, a similar thing for my Barnard and a Stony Point for most of the others and there lies the problem, the SP is a great combination device but seldom fits an action properly, it wither rattles around or needs adjusting and can come unscrewed so I am looking for a reasonable design or idea so I can make one for each rifle.
So what do you use and how could it be improved if at all?
I use Mike Lucas bore guides ordered from him direct ex USA ....reasonable price and great delivery turnaround...... made specifically for the action you specify & fit and seal beautifully.!

I like the idea of the push in guide to centre the cleaning rod and the knurled end as well. They look to be beautifully made and at a very good price as well.
I have no desire to rip his design off however the sleeve at the back will work well and I had already decided on a front guide sized to specific chambers. Thanks for that Dave.

It has taken me to the last clean to work out what the oblong hole is for at the rear of the guide. Up till now it only served to dump my cleaning substance onto my stock, then in a light bulb moment I realised that I could actually add the cleaning solution to the brush though it.
Why does so much of out kit come without instructions?
What is the correct sequence of cleaning,
Do the chamber first, then add the Bore Guide and clean the barrel, or the other way round?
I assume the former so that you do not push any debris into the bore which you have just cleaned,
I always though it was standard pratice to use a bore guide ( I use the 'fit all' plastic ones') - so that the end of the 'jag' or brush doesn't scrape the rifeling. When using 009 on a brush, I hold a cloth on the rod on the back stroke (don't say a word Ovenpaa...), to stop it going ito the mag and trigger. I've never seen the 'fancy' guides before...but will try one
I make my own from white nylon rod. Very easy to make - takes maybe 10mins work on a lathe and can be made to 'fit' both the calibre and the specific rifle&stock design.

Anyway they are first rate simple, robust and accurate.
Yep I use much the same thing as Dromia, had them for years and still going strong. The only different bore guide I use is for my AR-15's which is Stay Bore bore guide. Locks into the barrel and keeps it centre. One size fits up to 6.8SPC then it's on to the bigger calibre bore guides
