I am not sure why this is happening right now and I think we have had either 3 or 4 come in over the last 6 weeks with at least one being scrapped off so far. All came in from technically proficient and experienced shooters and all ended up with destroyed barrels and are lucky to be able to talk about it.
This arrived yesterday and is shown with the barrel and magazine tube we had to source prior to it arriving.

possibly people hunting for a low recoil load for gallery comps to speed up cycling? or maybe just a coincidence with progressive loaders all glitching at roughly the same time? all it takes is one squib load followed by a quick follow up shot.

It would be interesting to find out if all these loads came from progressive presses. And if they are all the same make.

Could have potential repercussions for civilian clubs if it was.

Nah, only if they were being naughty. Accidents do happen, it's up to the club to be acting above board and doing stuff right in order to stop it being an issue once the accident has happened. On MoD ranges it will result in more paperwork for the RCO!
My question was purely to find out the extent of the resulting investigation.
If something like this occurred on a MOD range could it not make them twitchy about civilian shooters using handloads on their ranges or would it come down to the discretion of the club?.

On an MoD range it is a reportable incident.

If it was on a MOD range then it should of been reported as an incident the MOD would then want a full inquiry. It could result in the Club being barred from using MOD ranges or the use of reloaded ammunition being banned. The MOD take incidents on there ranges very seriously.
