As you want it for target shooting, I suggest you look at the barrel twist rates and avoid anything with a 1:10 or slower twist. Ideally 1:8 to stabilise 70gr bullets.
Several of my club members have gone for the Howa in the GRS Beserker stock with no complaints!

different things all together , the quad is an abomination ! to think they discontinued the finnfire for it !Geek wrote:I got rid of my Sako Quad (first replaced under warranty, second rusted) and unfortunately I would not have another Sako.tackb wrote:sako 75 action 1 , just a delightful thing
But thanks for the reply.
I can assure you that you wouldn't be disappointed with a 75 , and if you can find one with a factory 1-8 your sorted !

Re: Which .223 bolt action?
I already have a straight pull (Steyr Aug) and I am specifically looking at a bolt action, just something different to use. You can never have enough firearms :)Dark Skies wrote:I've been very pleased with my SGC Speedmaster - second hand to me, shoots very well, and never had to have a single thing repaired on it and I've put thousands of round through with zero issues.
On the SGC however, spoke to the manufacturer once when I first obtained my FAC (very short conversation!) - I will refrain from commenting further other than to say my personnel opinion is not positive.
