It was the newest version I had in my hand, too cramped for skillet hands like mine.

I've seen both at the same time, although not laying side by side, and I could NOT see any difference in external dimensions. Ths GSG's do vary in internal dimensions to a proper 1911 though, it makes fitting some aftermarket parts quite the chore
