The range in Charmouth (also a Steve) allows you to try before you buy. He doesn't have loads of stock so you'd want to call first.

Fultons used to let you wander down to Short Siberia in the good old days and some people have 24/7 ranges local such as North Coates Butts who accept an RFD member plus FAC holding guests

I think they might still let you try out something on the zero range, as I was on zero last autumn one Saturday morning and there was a guy going backwards and forwards from Fultons with various SMLE and No.4's trying them out and asking a few other people on the range about each etc.
Don't know what the criteria needs to be before they will let you do that though...(e.g any FAC holder or have to be NRA member only etc.?)

Is the entire area of Bisley, from the fence, classed as a range then, and covered by the HO club lend rule? I would have thought that it would only apply to the actual ranges?
