s5 (1a)(c)

"any launcher or other projecting apparatus not falling within paragraph (ae) of that subsection which is designed to be used with any rocket or ammunition falling within paragraph (b) above or with ammunition which would fall within that paragraph but for its being ammunition falling within paragraph (c) of that subsection;"

Yes. That'd be ok.

Let us know how you get on in court.
Not sure who'd be after you more - Home Office/Police/CPS or the RSPCA for making the dog retrieve dummy's from a quarter mile out.

A Dummy Launcher although subject to proof law does not have a barrel as such which is why it is exempt. Odd really as it could still kill someone with ease.

Yes it would certainly kill me if I had to keep running uphill to fetch the flipping dummy. :D

Some of the firearms legislation can seem illogical.

You can possess a rifled barrel blank off ticket. As soon as you remove metal from it with a chamber reamer and put a chamber in it, it becomes a controlled item. Figure that one out.

The Firearms law is clear about grenade dischargers now being S5.

Years ago I saw some for sale in London with no restriction, so the law may have changed.

Erm, I usually send the dog to retrieve the thing, incidentally it is always good to to get the dog used to it and scent it before launching across the fields and avoid the more powerful blanks as they can launch the dummy over the horizon leaving the dog looking baffled and you holding an aching wrist.

Turning a blank into a functional components part...? Yip. Figured it out.
I think the laws MAY have changed several times. The missing pistols & self loading rifles from the safe would back that up.

How are these S5?

They appear to be little more than a choke tube. How would the law distinguish between a cup launcher and a muzzle brake, for example - the Lantac brake looks very similar...

A "grenade laucher" with its own trigger / firing mech is one thing - this doesn't seem to fit in the same category (and a quick Google seems to show a few antiques dealers offering them)?

They would look at what it was designed for I.E lobbing grenades
