The 7.25 drills arrived this morning I decided that the Hardinge lathe was probably overkill for drilling and tapping cases so I moved every thing onto the Myforld ML10 we normally only use it for screw cutting. So I drilled a mix of cases I dug out of my boxes of stuff.
Tapped them all and then applied a gentle chamfer and every thing is rosy in the Alpha house hold.

Colin my prodigy is over the moon with his newly acquired Hornady over all length gauge.
( I think they are sh-te and only fit for the scrap bin )

I'm loving my newly acquired Shooting Shed over all length gauge its superb.

How are you gripping the cases, as an example I use a 12mm Crawford type Collet and grip with the front of the collet just over the extractor groove of the case to ensure the case is not damaged or deformed during clamping. Just drilled and tapped a case for the 6,5x54MS which will be put to good use later today assuming I find a few spare minutes...

Normaly I use ER40 collets I have them in all sizes up to about 32mm. Most of my work is done using the collet chuck and I am set up to use the same collets on my mill.
