For my needs I did consider using an autodisk but could not see an easy way to modify it to manuall operation, on the other hand iv'e now got something that should last me the rest of my life.

I prefer case activated powder dropping as it give far more consistent (accurate) drops.
Consistent technique is the key to successful use of a powder thrower, case activation smooths out any operator error, you still need to try your best to do every thing the same and feel for issues, but the linkages gives consistency. I have Lee Pro Disk units, one of Lee's better products, RCBS and Hornady measures all case activated
I also like fixed cavity measures for small amounts of powder and use the RCBS Little Dandy and Lyman Accumeasures, the rotor cavities are easily adjusted to any exact load by getting one a little larger than you needs and filling it to size with sealant, there are some people in the states who sell adjustable rotors as well but I have never had the need to purchase one.
