Will point it out to our committee. That said, most of our members use club guns. The usage of which, if I'm reading this right, would not need to recorded beyond the caliber (which we already do).

Crikey, our local club will hit 1000 members next year, that will be interesting if the serial of every single firearm shot needed to be collated.

Does not specify serial numbers.

I would argue that "rifle .22" would count as details.

We could all define details differently.

Or shall we start filling out the log thus -

Mr Bloggs, Mon 1st March 2016, rifle, calibre .22 longrifle, serial no 1234, barrel length 20", action - self loading, furniture - synthetic, colour - black.

Note 6 of the criteria pamphlet states;

"6. An attendance register should be kept of all members. In the case of a firearm held on a member’s firearm certificate, the register will record the calibre, type and serial number of the firearm(s) used and the date. All visiting shooters should be logged in the same way. In the case of competition shoots between clubs, the responsibility for recording the attendance of a team member will lie with the club that the shooter represents. In the case of open competitions, the organising club will record details of competitors. Clubs should retain their attendance records for a minimum of 6 years.

Its easier if guns are detailed somewhere and allocated a number; then all you have to do is write down name and guns used Club #1 or club gun #3, etc.

That's all we do.
joe blogs, club #1, date. It also means we have a record if & when you wish to put in for your fac.

Our club does the same as Andy632. Works well with minimum fuss.

We had trouble with our records getting torn out through vandalism...so we reverted to a credit card sized card from our local printer...on the back u sign it and on the front you record the calibre make and type along with your membership number, firing point and date as well as ticking the box for practice or comp etc...you then put the card into a slot in a safe that only the membership sec has the combination for, thus the records are not person specific if stolen and can only be viewed by the proper person....the details are fed into a database so we can see trends in who attends and when....it's proved popular as nobody's details per se are left at the range.....

However there's nothing stopping any crim following you home from your morning going shooting is there....

Oundle have just modified their sign in sheets so you have a numbered list of rifles at the top of the page and you just put the number by each visit.

A book which that has relatively easy access for any visitor to easily read, it gives a list of everything you have.

What you own as private information also a large list will show you may be worth finding, a list should be securely stored.
