I once used a ford focus 2.0 , very successfully, on a badger.

Yes but it depends on the range limits, all 25 yrd indoor ranges are not necessarily the same.

Our local 25m range has a maximum energy limit of 10,000 Joules so .338LM if you really want to shoot such things at 25m.... :)

Yes it's called a chamber adapter and allows .22lr to be shot in a .223rem. Unfortunately accuracy isn't great when using them.

Blackstuff,
Hodgdon have a recipe for trail boss that looks like it might work in most 25m ranges (circa 141 ft lbs, 55grn 1075 ft/s), at least I am planning on using it as a starting point. Although my fat fingers have enough difficulty in loading larger bullets, not sure I am going to enjoy smaller ones!

For our 25yrd indoor range 1750 fps/475ftlbs and 22 centrefire rounds I use 3gns N320 under 37gn cast bullets which just keep going into the same place on the target if I do my bit.

goodjob Interesting. Once I've finally got my full power reloads tested I might try to get something made that will comply with indoor ranges and see if it has enough gas to power my MARS, I'm sure fitting the sound mod will help boost the pressure in the action fingerscrossed

Sorry for the thread hi-jack BTW! Re the OP topic, sorry to be boring but I'd also recommend the .223 as its so easy to get components/ammo and the are countless rifles made in it.

Hodgdon also has a subsonic recipe for 223 using titegroup/clays. Also, according to Hodgdon, you can reduce H4895 to 60% of maximum for lighter loads - http://www.hodgdon.com/PDF/H4895%20Redu ... 0Loads.pdf
