At my own club we have very strict rules with regard to when rifles can be uncased and when they should be cased. In this instance at Bisley it was individuals all acting alone and with no supervision. I don't hold the NRA responsible as this was early evening and most things were shut up but I do hold the shooting club (clay layout) responsible for not managing the safety of the clay lines and the area around them. All in all some pretty shabby gun handling and I hope the people concerned read this and recognise themselves.

I would've had a stern word with whoever was signed on as Saftey Officer for that day, the buck stops with them if it all goes t!ts up!

My strawbaler sometimes hosts small charity shoots and the guns are only ever in the publics hands as they are shooting, we even load the guns for them. 1 to 1 supervision per gun and at least one other member watching over the rest of the group. If they look too dodgy they're just turned away
