You still haven't explained what you see as rim problems.

Probably because it wasn't adopted by any European Armies because they already had suitable cartridges.

"You still haven't explained what you see as rim problems."

Rimmed cartridges can, if carelessly loaded, lock together and jam. Also, they would require a new bolt face and extractor for our DTA...

So load correctly then!......I load my 54r Mosin stripper clips using the correct technique and don't have a rim lock problem.

If it locks due to "careless loading" that's operator error, not a fault of the cartridge.

I'd have thought that as a battle rifle cartridge, anything in the design that can lead to operator error is a significant issue given!

Sorry for the extra given. I can no longer edit posts in "An application".

Please re-use the spare given in another post.

It would appear that the British Tommy and Russian Ivan didn't have much problem over the years!, and a lot of .303 and 54r still being used in combat around the world.

Oh I'm sure our lads had a jam from time to time that could have been avoided....

It obviously was not a problem or they would have changed it.

It went a long way to helping us win two world wars so history contradicts your view.

I see plenty of jams with rimless cartridges so an non issue.

For automatic firearms design I can see some benefit in the rimless cartridge.
