Don't see a problem if it really helps fight crime!

It's not a Dolphin F class rifle that GMP have to worry about, it's all those pistols and SMGs from Eastern Europe that aren't registered that are the problem.

A very prudent principle in general when dealing with agencies of the state. "If I've done nothing wrong, I've nothing to fear" some say, which is true, but relies on mistakes never being made, when in fact mistakes are often made. That being said, this scheme only requires you to hand the empties over if a firearm gets stolen, when you will have rather more to worry about.

This is how easy it is to go from being honest men going about their business to being fitted up and having years stolen from your life by the state.

Beat me to it Dark Skies. If they want to fit you up they will - wonder how many have been wrongly executed due to "police efficiency" in clearing up a case.

Shocking and one hopes the police involved will do serious time - bit it's unlikely. As it is these fishermen should receive MILLIONS and sue the officers concerned privately!
Just because you are innocent does not mean anything. As for "if it helps fight crime"

YEAH RIGHT., WE ALWAYS HEAR THAT DON'T WE!
