I picked one up last year. They're not bad, certainly for the money:

I've got a couple, plus an old Olympus one plain optical one. The problem with the cheap usb borescopes is the focal length is too long for using the angled eye piece. The best way I've found is to put a ball of aluminium foil up ahead of the objective of the 'scope so the light gets reflected back and you get a very good view of the surface of the barrel. BTW, prepare yourself to get seriously upset when you see the true condition of the surface of what you thought was a shiny pristine bore. I knew my mosin was well used but I at least expected not to be playing spot the rifling!

Ive always fancied an Enfield but didnt put one on my application due to the fact I'd probably end up buying a smoothbore Enfield shotgun

This is the one problem with borescopes....suddenly a good shooting rifle needs a new barrel.....
Most people dont know what they are looking at and ignore the throat and landes anyway, and who needs rifling

This is a bit of video I shot with a homemade borescope - WARNING - It's not a pretty sight.

We had a potential customer come in for a re-barrel on a 22-250 quite recently, he had been told his existing barrel was toast and he would need a new one at a quoted GBP900 for a custom job, would I mind giving him a second opinion. Not a problem as the 22-250 is a cartridge I am very fond of and I have peered at a few barrels.
What I found was the original machine marks and remarkably only the very lightest of fire cracking in the first inch or so and a rather nice throat, I asked him what it shot like and he replied 1" groups at 100 with factory ammunition.
Best keep shooting it then was my reply. He saved GBP900 and it cost us a coffee.
I am sure there is a moral in there somewhere. :)

Barrel manufacturers/suppliers should offer heavily discounted Lyman borescopes as a loss leader. Double their turnover at a stroke. :)

OK, I can answer my own question. They don't work on a .22lr.

Thanks for that Les. I now know it wont fit the .22 when I finally buy one.
But it will after a bit of modding
