Re: Hatsan Escort slam fire - need fix
My trigger group on my Xtrema has really tiny springs...worries me when I give it a blast with my air line.
A knowledgeable smithy may repair it for £30! Trigger groups are not cheap, once everyone has had their cut.

Hi DM, no, you are correct I got no feedback from Hatsan... you should have posted this a week ago as I am just back from Hatsanland! Sods law eh  You still got my email - PM me if not.
Never heard of this before although a mate with a Spas had a similar problem which also incuded a nasty habit of firing when the safety was applied /released.... . Not into the innards of these things but have a look at where /the way the hammer is retained before you pull the trigger, I would suspect that something is maybe loose /a tad worn as the fault is intermittent. I reckon trigger assembly somewhere.
And you can dry fire these things.
Just noticed it was just cleaned, maybe a combination of wear and lube????

Re: Hatsan Escort slam fire - need fix
I am 99% sure that it is wear and tare on the trigger unit - which just drops out in one piece and is made up of various qualities of metal and plastic parts.
With the hammer back I can not pull it free from the trigger sear, but I am guessing that the violent action of the recycling process is somehow knocking it lose or not catching it.
Have a RFD on the job, just waiting for some feed back from Edgar's, I am in no rush but an answer soon would be nice.

Is everything tight enough, maybe some flexing under recoil when the bolt slams back???
