Don't care...it's back on. :o

If someone can shoot comps with a scope 1894 to 300 at Bisley, that's good enough for me. :D

Took nearly two hours to find the bolts etc for the scout mount rail.

Has anyone got a 44mag 1894 for fox?

Don't see why not...guess I need expanding too. Should be fine for 100mish distance.

Comments please.

Everyone bollocked me for putting a scope on my 44mag 1894...WTF!?

I don't see what the problem is. I had a red dot on my Marlin .44. The rifle itself was fine at 25 yards at my club but any further it was useless.

Guys in my club have their carbines for vermin. Not sure what ammo they use!
It's not the pace of life that concerns me, it's the sudden stop at the end!

I guess jacketed soft points are ok like they are for 30/30 Winchester U/L rifles...no special condition for target shooting because its dangerous to put anything else in an in-line mag. Correct?

Got the condition for 223rem...both the Saiga and Remington 700 Police...for fox.

Come to think of it I had a scope on my Winchester 30/30.

Yes Bobbob...the red dot works ok at 25 for me too. :)

Rob, try H110, magnum primers and 240gn JSPs to take you out to 300. They do go off with a bang though.......

I've had a scout rail and a Burris Scout Scope on my 1894P since I got it. Fast as a red dot, but with a lot more precision. I can't mount scopes on some of my Marlins........ as they were made in the 19th century! :D

No Rob, you did not get a bollocking because you put a scope on a Marlin. You got a bollocking becase you put such an UGLY scope on a Marlin......... ;)
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

Guns dont kill people. Dads with pretty Daughters do...!

I have a genuine excuse for fitting optics to my rifles two and a half hours of eye surgery that left me with not to good vision. But even with my duff eyes and my home loads I could put them all in the black at 25mtrs with my trapper.
Optics on a under lever I feel ill.
