I had an interesting K98, it was a DOU '43 stamped Czech built complete with the Nazi marks but after the war it ended up in the hands of the Haganah in Israel, converted to 7.62 NATO, and had the Star of David stamped on the receiver next to the Nazi eagle and swastika and it had Hebrew markings on the original German sling.A lot of history and I paid £250 for it.Livefast wrote:I've still got my eye on a No4 as it's what I originally set out to get before I was ambushed by my M44. Have a nice one that is owned by a colleague that I need to prize out of his hands.......plus I think if you are collecting WW2 you should really have the home nation rifle first.......and I just happen to have a slot for .303.
I would love a Nazi marked K98 but the prices seem to be rather steep and like the look of the K31.........god, I need to win the lottery!
