If you want to discuss this further then GOM ids the place to do it not here.
This not a shooting related discussion.
If you don't wish access to GOM then you are denying yourself that opportunity, your choice.

This is a shooting a gun ownership forum first and foremost and we will concentrate on that.
This post is in reply to tatooed gun.
Supporting all legal firearm owners, collectors, enthusiasts, shooters and competitors by promoting and encouraging legitimate gun ownership and use in the UK through unity, advocacy and discussion."
I would suggest first and foremost it is a community. Without the members it is just an empty shell.
I still believe that there is a place on here to have an off-topic forum where members can talk about things unrelated to shooting (since I'm sure a lot of us share other, similar interests) without being subjected to the tone that has built within GoM, and consequently the reason it got "locked down". It wouldn't be much at all to create a new forum, and move any topics that become GoM vein to move them and let those in the thread know where it's gone and why.
Purely from a self propelling standpoint of the sport and forum, people come here because of search engines bringing up the results that they are looking for, if we could have mature discussions on none-shooting subjects that are public, we may find the membership increases and the public realise that we're not all gun-toting-redneck-wannabees that only talk about guns.
Food for thought.
Re: EU In/Out Voting Thread Disappeared
As I have already stated, I asked the membership to vote because of the implications it could potentially have for the shooting sport therefore it is relevant and shooting related.dromia wrote:If you want to discuss this further then GOM ids the place to do it not here.

This has been discussed at great length and had a great deal of though about it and we feel that one non shooting forum is sufficient especially considering the complications of moderating such forums and the line that would have to be drawn between them.TattooedGun wrote:"The UK's Finest Independent Forum for Shooters and Gun Ownersdromia wrote:You are welcome to disagree but there is no reason yet another non shooting forum here, it would just become another GOM.

I don't doubt your intentions but as the thread developed there was precious little pertaining to the referendum and shooting and as the posts developed it was a non shooting thread. If the content had remained germane to OP the it would have been a shooting related thread but as I have said there are bigger drivers affecting peoples decision on the matter and that was the thrust of the read hence the move.

If it was such a problem why did it take you so long to move it......

Re: EU In/Out Voting Thread Disappeared
And yet we have two threads in General Discussion that sunk to nothing more than calling Mike Yardley all sorts of names, are you able to see the double standards here?I don't doubt your intentions but as the thread developed there was precious little pertaing to the referendum and shooting and as the posts developed it was a non shooting thread. If the content had remained germane to OP the it would have been a shooting related thread but as I have said there are bigger drivers affecting peoples decision on the matter and that was the thrust of the read hence the move.
