Re: Mike Yardley bemoans magazines for not hiring profession
Is Yardley saying he's professional and independent then
-that'll make him a liar as well as a buffoon.

Political Correctness is the language of lies, written by the corrupt , spoken by the inept!

I know of another suxh "writer"Rarms wrote:For once I agree with him. Nothing new though I guess, except now we are subjected to it without shelling out for a magazine.
On facebook you have people posting about this great scope or this great gun, and blatently they are getting it for nothing or free to review etc...
Was getting a fair amount of kit "on loan" from several suppliers.
Kept it all....then the magazine was invoiced for the missing gear & things got "interesting" for him.
An honest mistake....I'm sure....couldn't be anything else!
Re: Mike Yardley bemoans magazines for not hiring profession
Thing is, everyone should just ignore Yardley. Do whatever needs to be done on social media unfriruend unfollow, unimportant or whatever and do nothing to respond to him....
I did write to the editor of "Rifle Shooter", concerning Yardley and that I wouldn't be buying the magazine. He actually replied back. Credit to him for that!

In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

SimG.
What did he reply? If you don't mind me asking.I did write to the editor of "Rifle Shooter", concerning Yardley and that I wouldn't be buying the magazine. He actually replied back. Credit to him for that!
Re: Mike Yardley bemoans magazines for not hiring profession
Hi Rab. No, don't mind at all....
Hi Simon,
Thanks for your email. Of course I am very sad to hear that the
inclusion of one article by one particular author in six month's worth
of magazines is sufficient for you to reject Rifle Shooter as a viable
form of information and entertainment.
I understand that Michael has been causing ructions with his personal
view of certain types of shooting sport in recent months. As I say, that
is his personal view and certainly not one he has aired through any
media outlet other than his own social media or similar.
I might also point out that Mr Yardley has been a staunch supporter of
shooter's rights in the UK for many years. Whenever there is a shooting
incident or debate about tighter gun regulation in the mass media, Mike
is often one of the first into the breach, be it on TV, radio or the
print press. He has spoken eloquently and persuasively on the matter and
perhaps we all owe him a small debt of gratitude for that.
I do understand your perspective up to a point. I think shooting as a
sport is far too divided and many branches are quick to criticise others
and their preferences just because they have a different view. My aim is
to produce magazines that bring shooters of all disciplines and creeds
together. To promote our sport and preserve it for the future.
I am sorry that you have been put off by the personal views of Mr
Yardley - but in truth, I'm not sure I can think of a national shooting
title that HASN'T run copy from him at some point over the years!
Anyway, thanks again for taking the trouble to write to us and I hope
you may reconsider in the future.
With kindest regards,
Dom

Fair dues to him Chuck he does know his stuff. I just don't agree with the rubbish he's been spouting lately. He says that military type looking rifles shows the sport in a poor light while he has videos on YouTube with him bragging about how he's shot 1000 birds in a morning, what kind of image does he imagine that gives to people who don't shoot.Chuck wrote:Is Yardley saying he's professional and independent then-that'll make him a liar as well as a buffoon.
Don't get me wrong I fully support his right to hunt, I just think that the guy needs to take a step back and have a good long hard think about what he does, and what he says about other sportsmen, especially some of the name he's called folks who own AR's.
Personally I no longer have any time for the man and ignore anything he says, writes or films.
Re: Mike Yardley bemoans magazines for not hiring profession
Thank you Simon, I wonder what the magazines thoughts are now with regards to any future articles written by Yardley.
Re: Mike Yardley bemoans magazines for not hiring profession
I read on another forum that Yardley went the same way as Dick Metcalf in regards to some US outlets he was massaging and that another UK title had an editor take over who was a CSR shooter and once the lined up articles from Yardley were published, he was going to be dropped...

Yep, I think the guy is cutting his own throat with regards to future work, in the end it'll be only the anti gun organisations that will be asking for his opinions. He's certainly annoyed a lot of sportsmen/women on both side of the pond.Sim G wrote:I read on another forum that Yardley went the same way as Dick Metcalf in regards to some US outlets he was massaging and that another UK title had an editor take over who was a CSR shooter and once the lined up articles from Yardley were published, he was going to be dropped...
Re: Mike Yardley bemoans magazines for not hiring profession
He claims he's a "experimental psychologist". He banned me from his Twitter and Facebook account because I linked some articles of what leading lights in the experimental psychologist field actually think of those that kill animals for fun/sport/trophies!

The man's a feking charlatan!
