I heard that Australia has actually made it a crime for a legal gun owner To use firearms for self defence even as last resort when life is endanger ! (Home inversions) !!
That makes their gun law worse then ours

This is shocking news :bad: I do hope they both recover well from this nasty incident.

... and that sadly is the Crux of the problem!

Due to my unique and specialist work I happen to be something of a public figure.... Random people recognise me from off the TV and while they might not know my real name, they know that I'm the ------Man and where I work. I drive a rare and distinctive vehicle. As much as I'd love to promote shooting sports on my private and public figure FaceBook accounts, forums / publicly, its just not worth the risk..... it would be too simple for criminals to follow me either home or snatch me enroute and force me to open my gun cabinets.

I personally know of an RFD who was snatched, bundled into a car and forced to open up the gun store..... very traumatic time.

We need to be sensible out there.

This is the case I was referring to:

Gun shop worker kidnapped by gang
A gun shop worker was kidnapped by two men who forced him to open the premises and hand over weapons and ammunition.

Don't be coy, one of the first things you did on this forum was allude to your unusual line of work. You can't claim to be super-cyber-cautious now - that ship's sailed.

That is a fair comment and I do take your point. We all need to be careful.
