Sorry, but that's not the case. See my posts on it then look at Bradaz's link...
In 1978 I was told by my grand dad that the secret to rifle accuracy is, a quality bullet, fired down a quality barrel..... How has that changed?

I have installed both weaver and picatinny including rails from Brownells many times and can't tell the difference. Everything designed to fit a rail of the same size has fitted perfectly regardless of whether it has been a picatinny or weaver.

I have had devices here that would fit Picatinny but not Weaver, in fact that is why they were here, to make them fit.

Alpha1 - why not make one for yourself, look on it as a project on your own mill. I have made them and they need some thought on how to set work piece up in the machine if you are machining a low profile version.

That's not a bad idea ovenpaa I might just give it a go. I am hoping to have a copy of the rear mount mid week this will have a flat top I was thinking I could mill one end of the rail to screw onto this at the correct height then I will only have to alter the rail to fit the front part of the action. If that makes sense. I don't want to alter the action any more than I really have to.

not really, some commas or fullstops would help in there. sounds like you want a bit of rail to fit onto a mount?

the link I put in has the drawings for rail, so if you mill whatever you are making to the picatinny specs, anything milspec should fit to it.

Well not quite. I have to make the mounts to fit the contour of the action. I then have to drill and tap the action to accommodate the mounts. Then I can think about fitting a rail. Thanks for the drawing that helps.
