This is interesting because I think that Obama has done an awful lot for the US gun industry via reverse psychology and sabre rattling and as a result has been enjoying the tax $ benefits in a financially austere time.Rab wrote:Explosive, on a side note I was reading the other day that in the US there is a bill about to go through Congress to remove the ATF licence fee and all the other crap Americans have to go through to acquire a moderator. Seems that if the bill passes, and they think that it will, then it will simply be a case of buying a mod through an FFL.

Why should they even have to buy one through an FFL ?Rab wrote:Explosive, on a side note I was reading the other day that in the US there is a bill about to go through Congress to remove the ATF licence fee and all the other crap Americans have to go through to acquire a moderator. The assumption of many is that the US laws are lax. I know they vary from state to state, but in general that's not the case.
3 years ago Canada got rid of the long gun registry. At present if we want to buy a rifle or ammo we just need to flash a PAL ( possession and acquisition licence ) at a gun store. From a Canadian stand point many of the firearm laws in the US are strict. Nowhere is perfect.

I regularly build Sten guns to sell. I have had many enquiries from the US, but the authorities there will not issue an import licence because my guns fire from an open bolt. In Canada they are legal to own.

DL. I agree, President Obama's sabre rattling has had exactly the reverse effect I think he was looking for. Even his latest executive action does nothing to lower sales.DL. wrote:This is interesting because I think that Obama has done an awful lot for the US gun industry via reverse psychology and sabre rattling and as a result has been enjoying the tax $ benefitsRab wrote:Explosive, on a side note I was reading the other day that in the US there is a bill about to go through Congress to remove the ATF licence fee and all the other crap Americans have to go through to acquire a moderator.
