Seems that if the bill passes, and they think that it will, then it will simply be a case of buying a mod through an FFL.
This is interesting because I think that Obama has done an awful lot for the US gun industry via reverse psychology and sabre rattling and as a result has been enjoying the tax $ benefits in a financially austere time.

Why should they even have to buy one through an FFL ?

The assumption of many is that the US laws are lax. I know they vary from state to state, but in general that's not the case.

3 years ago Canada got rid of the long gun registry. At present if we want to buy a rifle or ammo we just need to flash a PAL ( possession and acquisition licence ) at a gun store. From a Canadian stand point many of the firearm laws in the US are strict. Nowhere is perfect.

I regularly build Sten guns to sell. I have had many enquiries from the US, but the authorities there will not issue an import licence because my guns fire from an open bolt. In Canada they are legal to own.

DL. I agree, President Obama's sabre rattling has had exactly the reverse effect I think he was looking for. Even his latest executive action does nothing to lower sales.

I believe it is the Democrats who are insisting on the FFL, thing, it's to stop "silencers" 8-) getting into criminal hands. A little too much Hollywood me thinks.

Back on thread.............Third Eye Spartan is excellent in 308, good attenuation and on my rifle, around 40% less recoil.
Easy to strip and clean as well.
