Re-learning to shoot a pistol. I suspect it'll take a lot longer than a single winter though!

my plans are to keep playing with my 1873 pistols, and get a grip on where they are shooting, and try to get my misses down. i've made up a freestanding target board i can put out on the local range and shoot as close in as i like, as they see to have a different POI at 25 yrd to 5-10 that i normally shoot at in comps

Learning how to chamber a rifle barrel thread it and fit it correctly. Iv got a donor rifle to play with if I screw it up it does not matter I'll just scrap it.
Casting boolits and load development for a couple of rifles for next year.
Tidying up my reloading room and getting stuff in some sort of order for a change.
A couple of new rifles I'm hoping to acquire my certificate is in for variation. I'm looking at the possibility of getting a rifle converted to 6.5x47 in the new year depending on how much it will cost.
Oh and I need to make a couple of new barrel spiders.
Get a couple of reamers and have a go at making some reloading dies both neck bushing and full lentgh sizing the list is endless.

I am working on restoring my No4 Mk1 to former glory! The original wood work is not a perfect colour match so I bought un-issued wood which I will aim to refinish. I did my first refinish project on a CZ452 stock and I'm really happy with the results. There's no checkering on the Lee Enfield woodwork (except the grooves in the upper handguard) so it should be much easier going. I've managed to finally source a spare brass butt plate which will be a nice compliment to the wood. I eventually bought the full set of front sight blades which will come in handy once I've developed a load using RS50 powder and 174gr SMK projectiles. The price of the specialist tools for the Enfield stack up quite quickly so I'll have to see if these are possible to make myself.

I've had good success with RS50 and 8x57IS (using full length sized cases) but found that when using the fire-formed cases and the same powder load I was not getting full case obturation and the velocity decreased by an average of 100fps. I will need to revise my loading using fire-formed cases which have been neck-sized only to see how much powder is required to achieve my preferred velocity.

I also need to get more Small Rifle Mangum Primers for my 6.5x47 Lapua. I've called a few local gun shops & RFD's in South Wales and no one is interested in ordering these in - one shop would only order them in 5k quantities. Seeing as I've only shot 300 bullets in this calibre over 6 months I think 5k would last a lifetime. I've found a gun shop in Bristol to stock these so will be wandering up there to buy some among other things. I need to continue load development for this calibre too as I've found reasonably priced Hornady A-Max 123gr bullets to try out.

I have 500x Lapua .224 69gr Scenar's in my cupboard that I've not loaded up yet. I've been using RS50 for my SMK (52gr and 69gr) but I think this powder is too slow burning as my velocities are quite anaemic (despite producing good groups at 100m) so I'll have to source a faster burning RS powder.

Will keep me busy for some time...
