My 1894SS is 5 years old so I guess it falls into the Remlin category, it was slicked and tricked before I got it and it has never missed a beat and has won me and my son numorous comps, in one day alone it had 600 rounds through it during a fun packed day of comps at Bisley, maybe I'm just lucky.

My competitive streak is seriously pushing you all towards not buying a Marlin. Go on buy a Uberti or a Henry.

Wha ha ha ha ha!

Just thought I'd come back with a quick update on this. To make a long story short, I eventually got the rifle back a few weeks after I'd sent it in and everything now seems to be resolved and the rifle is running smoothly. I still want to do a few things to it, probably some new sights first.

Adding my little bit hear.

I have a late production 2014 Remington made Marlin in .44 no problems with it myself. Although it doesn't like to eject very old brass. But I mean its like 45+ reloads so the brass is the problem there.

I know many people struggle with the special loads in both .38 and .44
they'r problems sound like yours where everything just jams up with no give.
But thats my experience.

when they load magnam cases they have no problems. :good:

Hope you get it back in working order

happy shooting
cheers

I'm not sure what you are describing is a fault or the "Marlin Jam" that is a result of the design and or short stroking the action sometimes. Only way round this is to remove the bolt and remove the case.

Been a known issue for a decades.

I'm convinced! I'll stick with my 114 year old Winchester'92.
