When I was abroad, I'd get stuff mailed to my parents house and my dad would often have to go and pick it up from the depot in town. My main hobby at the time was airsoft, so inevitably lots of RIFs ended up being posted through to me. One day my dad got a call asking him to come to the depot, the ushered him in through to the sorting office in the back and explained this 8kg, metre and a bit long package looked suspiciously like a gun when they x-rayed it.
Short discussion later, and they are happy with it and let him go on his way with it. The odd thing I though, this was about the 20th RIF in just over a year (boredom and the Internet are a horrible thing) that he had picked up with no questions asked, nor any signs of inspection or have been opened.
