Are they not just looking for something official that tells them what rifle it is? I.e. Not a full-bore semi-auto. They're probably under the mistaken presumption that yanks have a similar regime as us
That said it could be for his own good, I've been to a PSG comp in this country and an American showed up with a 20" barrel semi-auto = 5-10years if he'd been caught with it

It was only through the ignorance of the customs officials he got away with it

The application gives full details of the rifle including the serial number.

Maybe Durham need to contact his local force in the US to tell them HOW to issue gun licences?
Their answer would be good I bet
Sounds like a total fabrication anyway.....dodgy Roger having "friends?"...

Don't be so harsh, I'm sure many would be Rogers friend if he was 3,000 miles away.

Durham final caved in and conceded that Minnesota doesn't require a gun licence for rifles (eminently sensible!).
Licence in the post tonight, I'm told.
