Oh indeedy, but not difficult to overcome with a spark of imagination and touch of elektrikkery, or even an elastic band...
Its difficult enough, armored vehicle manufacturers have being trying to come up with defences against shaped charge warheads since ww2 with varying success. ERA for example isn't always effective.
Tandem warheads are the fella for ERA

Reminds me of the millenium dome "incident".

Bullet proof glass that was sold as withstanding 20 minutes of anything met a bloke with a nail gun.

Built to resist the force of a 60-ton ram raid, the explosive-resistant glass was also designed to foil any 'known tool' for at least 30 minutes. Cockram, however, he had the answer. The idea was to weaken the glass with three shots from a powerful Hilti nailgun. Robert Adams would then use a sledgehammer to break the 'warmed' glass.

As Adams smashed his way through, the plan appeared to be working to perfection. The world's most fabulous collection of diamonds was within arm's reach in just 27 seconds.

The projectile in the vid was "only" a standard PG-7 warhead, the PG-7VR tandem-charge warhead is the new badboy in the Russian arsenal which has a first stage 64mm HEAT charge that prematurely detonates the reactive armour of the target and is followed by the 105mm HEAT charge that proceeds through the gap and explodes on the exposed armour underneath and will apparently penetrate all current Western armour.Penetration is said to be 600mm of armour with reactive armour fitted and 750mm without reactive armour, that's a quarter of a metre of armour plate!.
Another nasty one for urban warfare and anti-personnel use is the newish 105mm Thermobaric projectile.

An RPG-29 capable of firing a tandem-charge penetrated the frontal armour of a Challenger 2. The tank, had already been hit by 10-15 RPGs, small arms and sniper fire. The driver though injured was able to reverse the vehicle 1.5 mi (2.4 km) to the regimental aid post despite his injuries.

Two Challenger 2s have been damaged in combat, but only one has been destroyed:
25 March 2003: A friendly fire ("blue-on-blue") incident in Basra C2 Destroyed
6 April 2007: in Basra, Iraq, a shaped charge from an IED penetrated the underside of a tank resulting in the driver losing three of his toes

Challenger 2's have been upgraded since.

So to any Russian wanting to knock out a Challenger 2 use a Challenger 2 if you want to tickle one use some Russian crap :flag13:
