Also why would a PNC check on the car bring up an FAC marker as we have 3 cars in our household, 2 registered to me and one registered to my wife, how does the officer behind you know its me driving not my wife? The one in the wife's name is the one I normally carry any firearms in as its the biggest.

Well i'd hope the officers eyes would work to an extent that he could tell the difference between you and your missus lol

Presumably you will also be insured on her car as well, the PNC check will reveal everyone who is insured on the vehicle.

Obviously you can drive someone elses car on a third-party insurance policy basis as an extension of your own policy, i.e. you're insured on your own car and that policy also allows you to drive other vehicles on a third-party basis, then i suppose the officer would need to get your name/details before any markers would show. (If indeed the do show 'automatically')

This gives a bit of information as to what the databases hold (firearms are under the 'Property' database apparently), but it doesn't clarify if FAC/SGC gets flagged automatically or whether the officer would have to manually interogate the system
