Not a interruption between shots, an interruption between pulling the trigger and second round chambering, if you delay it any later it's self-loading

That's what I was looking for. Thus the MARS and the SGC lever release fit the bill. Hopefully in a bit I can reveal more on the other thing I mentioned.Demonic69 wrote:Not a interruption between shots, an interruption between pulling the trigger and second round chambering, if you delay it any later it's self-loading
Right we aint got the numbers to turf the fools out or convince them to repeal the nonsense. This is what can be done in the mean time.meles meles wrote:We'd prefer to see the effort going into technical work arounds being expended instead on getting the politicians to realise the ban can safely be overturned...
so that says 'prepared for firing' what if you had something like a 1911 pistol action. where the slide coming back cocks the hammer. rather than having an interrupt on the loading sequence, could you drop the hammer's pivot point lower down, and trim the bottom edge of the bolt under the bolt back at an angle.Sim G wrote:No, I think not. It would boil down to the definition of "self loading", which off the top of my head goes along the lines of, "each press of the trigger, fires, ejects case, loads fresh round and iweapon is prepared for firing by subsequent presses of the trigger". I'm sure that's how the SGC and MARS have been classed as s1, because the cycle as defined, is interrupted.
It sounds interesting Brad, do you have a drawing to show this at all? I just think that version of the M9 that had to be cocked back each time to make it quieter with a moderator that was used by some US Special forces (and appear in Metal gear solid 2 as Snake's Dart gun) I was thinking of you last while speed dating, they had trooper ale on sale.bradaz11 wrote:so that says 'prepared for firing' what if you had something like a 1911 pistol action. where the slide coming back cocks the hammer. rather than having an interrupt on the loading sequence, could you drop the hammer's pivot point lower down, and trim the bottom edge of the bolt under the bolt back at an angle.Sim G wrote:No, I think not. this way as the slide comes back, it still loads a new round, but the hammer doesn't cock. so it isn't ready to be fired. you then manually have to cock it before you can fire again. you could even remove the halfcock sear...
does that sound feasible?
I'm not sure i like you thinking of me while speed datingSixshot6 wrote:

There might be an unveiling next week too.
yes, but it doesn't leave it ready to fire. Are self loading rifles banned or are semi automatic rifles banned?safetyfirst wrote:It still self loads though....
I only thought of you when I saw the beer and yeah the semi auto function in that M9 was disabled, seem to recall the slide only lasts 200 rounds before cracking. During the Vietnam War there was a smith and wesson 39 that did the same thing.bradaz11 wrote:I'm not sure i like you thinking of me while speed datingSixshot6 wrote:

no, why would i have a drawing?
the m9, didn't it need manual cocking due to the silencer? whether the weight stopped the action or exhaust gasses didn't cycle it.

Self-loading. The Firearms Act 1988 S2(ab)bradaz11 wrote:I'm not sure i like you thinking of me while speed datingSixshot6 wrote:
