Shame, if it did have a workable universal mount then I would buy one but no point on spending the dosh if it is limited to certain rifle styles.

While I have suggested that rifles such as the SMLE and No.4 Enfield may not be compatible, I haven't tried either as I don't own one. As can be seen from the above image, there is a series of five spacers which can be used singly or in combination to achieve the correct spacing from the bore. For fully stocked military and sportin rifles this can be a process or tiral and error. Of course difficulties with some full stocked rifles or those with more complex muzzles could be by-passed by temporary removal or stock/foresight/other parts to facilitate chronograph use.

Thank you for that, still too iffy/butty as to whether it will fit or not for me to spring for one.

If I have to strip the rifle to get it to fit then I am as well putting my PACT screens up, rather defeats the potential handiness of the tool which is one of its main attractions.

i'm still not seeing why it couldn't be used on a SMLE

I'm not saying it couldn't it is just I don't want to spend the money in the event that it doesn't fit my wide variety of older rifles that I shoot.

No one has been able to confirm how well it is suited to the the less tube shaped rifle front ends.

sorry, i wasn't saying you were. I just find it hard to believe that with that sort of mounting that you couldnt knock up something to clamp it on

Best idea would be to find somebody with a Magnetospeed V3 and try it.

How about one of these beauties?

A few of us are looking at clubbing together for one as our indoor range is not well enough lit for the Chrony to work consistently and the Magneto speed would need to be swapped between multiple rifles, so a little laborious.

Mine worked fine, until I accidentally shot it with a.45 ACP.. .. troutslapping

I did only hit one of the wires that stick out to hold the sunshade bit, but it loosened one of the sensors, so I never trusted it completely after that...!!
