I used a 1000 for 9mm in the pistol days and you should be able to use it progressive if it is mounted solid which will save time on hand priming etc. Then use FCD in a single stage which will be quick. Case prep clean if you want before de prime and size I don't bother just visual check and reload no trimming or cleaning primer pocket is required ( S&B uniformed one time job). Better things to do than FAF around with 9mm it isn't a precision round and I'm not going to take longer reloading than shooting it.
I Always cross reference manuals to powder makers data and start low.
Forgot to say 9mm is a taper crimp if you end up with a roll crimp it messes up head space. Don't worry if they look a bit coke bottle shape (google 9mm coke bottle)
Someone posted that the bullets in their first 9mm rounds were held in but could be rotated which sounded like a roll crimp.

Secondly, what about the voided warranty on a LR using reloads?

well i was hoping to split up my reloading, thinking was i could just deprime all my empties as i do already, but if i use the sizer, instead of the universal deprime, then i am throwing a 2nd task into that one.

i then ultrasonic clean as i have one courtesy of work. i could then sit and prime whatever brass i have all in one go. then when i have the time to actually reload, i should have brass ready to go, increasing my time spent actually reloading??

but i can see your way of thinking too, i'm just thinking i can do 38 / 44 / 45 all at the same time.

as for the 9mm taking longer to reload than shoot, i know, thats why i was planning to just buy it, but the press was cheap enough to tempt me

you are the first person i've seen, even trawling forums, to mention red dot... they mention blue dot....

and secondly... , its 2nd hand so i doubt there is much of a warranty anyway

I mentioned the warrant as Jeff got stuffed by SGC when his LR blew up as Jabba cited Jeff's previous use of reloads voided his warranty...

The first one to mention Red Dot?! Not many ex-pistol shooters/loaders on the forums you frequent? Blue Dot was too slow to work in 9mm, it's heading towards magnum pistol powder territory. Some people didn't like Red Dot as the large flake powder could be difficult to meter well in cheap throwers, but as a powder in 9mm, it was excellent.

115gn FMJ and 4.5gns of Red Dot would generate 1150fps from my Hi-Power and CZ75. 1080fps from an H&K P7 and S&W 539.

well this is really the only shooting forum i frequent, but on searching for info, google mainly throws up US sights, so most haven't had their guns bought from them by the government yet... but yeah, not a wide mention of reddot that i've seen. most seem to talk about power pistol or titegroup. with a smattering of w231/hp38

Remington also have the same exclusions in their warranty so it's not just SGC being fernickity.

Tightgroup, HP38 and w231 are relatively quick powders with Power Pistol about mid range in the table for handgun/shotgun powders.

I tend to develop a couple of pet loads per calibre I shoot, using different components, so avoiding shortage or difficulty obtaining reloading stuff happens. If the gun likes it, then there is plenty of choice in suitable powders. What does your local shop have a preference for stocking?

LOL, i haven't really found a local shop. there is John gillis in Luton, a and a gunsmiths in skeg and i keep meaning to check out Reloading.org.uk in Bristol.

Try 4.2 grins of either Universal or Unique. Both work well in mine .
