Has anyone hand loaded, specifically for accuracy, in a MARS yet?

Mine is more a fun gun setup me which is why I use the ammo I do. I do still try my best. Blackstuff seems to have loaded for accuracy. When i picked it from SYSS that had it sent from CCA, suggested 77grns to 80grns was best for handloads. Problem is however is finding brass when its been ejected and then sorting usable from non-usable. I guess I could have found a source for usable cheap brass but I found myself finding it cheaper and more fun to buy GGG and barnaul and it is what it is. A great fun gun.

Off topic and heads up, my US contact is unveiling his system prototype next week possibly. However it working in action will be a couple of weeks after that.

I've just used a variety of brands/bullet weight commercial ammo as i don't reload at the moment. As it favours the heaviest/most expensive ammo i can imagine it'll be the gun that finally gets me into reloading.

Finding the cases in grass is a pain, its just another good reason to use cheapy steel cased ammo as you can pick it up with a magnet :good: (Must remember to return the one i use to my clay club and make my own!)

lol I had an HK P7 that would throw cases about 10 yards! Shooting in a "booth" on a range was no gun at all, they would bounce everywhere and would invariably hurt at some point as it bounced of things at almost the same velocity as the bullets left the barrel! Newton was right!

I have to concur with Sixshot6 in that the Vz (albeit mine is a straightpull) is a fun gun and reloading is probably overspeccing the round as if it is absolute accuracy that you are after then it is probably the wrong rifle.

Having started reloading for my .308 Remmy to tighten grouping and shooting out to 600yds and hopefully beyond it is light relief to shoot the Vz with some Barnaul or GGG in to a Shoot n C and equally enjoyable in a different way.

Saying that l would be interested in seeing how the Vz performs with some varying hand loads and depending on the results may even sway me to add .223 to my reloading portfolio.

Sounds like a project Blackstuff!

I did warn they may be a little harsh......

If you think the milsurp is bad wait until you put some 180gn in there and stoke them up, while they are super accurate you can sometimes suffer from a nervous twitch. lol

..... thinking of that I have 100 or so rounds and don't have a rifle to shoot these properly though anymore. Be totally wasted in the M44
