Counter bored to what degree Iv measured mine its exactly 5mm I doubt you would get a grenade launcher on that. Like I said I just assumed they were all counter bored not having seen another one in the flesh. Any way it shoots great and its way up in the pecking order above my .303 jobbies.

Apparently they never did what the Russians did and counterbored to extend the barrel life, if it was worn to that extent it would be re-barrelled, and if this occurred during the post War Period it would be fitted with the barrels made for the grenade launching variants of the MAS36. Both MAS36s I have at the moment are counterbored, both are post war (early production though, within the first 10,000 of each series)
